Courtney Grimes

Courtney Grimes is 13 years old and a 7th grader at Brownsburg East Middle School. She loves hanging out with her youth group and church family at Harvest Bible Chapel in Avon. She loves to jump on her trampoline with her siblings, Jadyn, Branden, and Brayden. Courtney also enjoys reading, writing, arts and crafts, and singing with her family in their family ministry, Higher Ground. She started getting involved with Get REAL InC a couple of years ago when Courtney and her mom met Katie Wolfe, and she told them about this cool ministry. Courtney’s mom has been the worship leader for the Get REAL InC annual event. Now, Courtney has the privilege of taking on this role for the PJ Party and is so excited to be a part of it! Courtney also is the leader of Brownsburg’s 5th-8th grade Get REAL group and is a member of Get REAL InC’s board. Courtney wants to thank God for all that He has shown her through Get REAL and how He has helped her step out of her shell and become REAL.

Reagan Laughlin

Reagan is 16 year-old sophomore at Brownsburg High School and is active in sports and volunteering in community events. Loving the Lord and loving to sing, Reagan started songwriting at age 9. Reagan is also in the AMTC program and hopes to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Courtney Sackett

Hi! My name is Courtney Sackett, I am 13 years old, in seventh grade, and go to Brownsburg East Middle School. I moved to Brownsburg about a year and a half ago, and I love it! Some activities I’m involved in at school are FCA and tennis. I love to play with my dogs, hang out with my friends, read, write, and do all sorts of artsy things (like painting or sketching, you name it, I’ll draw it)! I also hosted the Brownsburg BowWOW Bash last August, and it was really fun! I’ve loved to sing since I was little and the PJ Party is how I can show how much I love for God! In the past few years, God has really shown me how He loves me, mostly through my small group leader at church, Ashley. She has taught me many important lessons and she is always there for me when I need her, just like God! This is my first year with Get REAL inC and I know the PJ Party will be a blast!

Jadyn Grimes

Jadyn Grimes is a 4th grader at Cardinal Elementary in Brownsburg and loves to sing for the Lord! She has had the privilege of singing with her family around the country through the ministry “Higher Ground” since she was 2 years old, so she is very comfortable on stage. Jadyn has a heart for encouraging others and leading young girls into worship. Jadyn is also a purple belt in karate, but don’t let that fool you. She is a girly-girl and loves to dress up and have her nails done. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and acting in shows at the Hendricks Civic Theater. Jadyn is ready to Praise Jesus with all of you!

Ellen Sauter

Ellen is a 15 year old sophomore at Speedway High School. She loves spending time with her family, friends and youth group from West Pines Baptist Church in Avon. She loves playing guitar and singing; but also plays trumpet in her school’s Jazz Band and clarinet in the Marching Band. She is in charge of the light show for all of her school’s drama productions. She is planning to go to college for nursing and pursue a career in the Emergency Room. She is very excited to be involved with the PJ Party and showing girls the love and grace God has for them; and how beautiful every girl is in his eyes. Psalm 45:11- “Let the King be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord.”

REAL Teen Emcees

Kayla Randall

Hi! My name is Kayla. I’m homeschooled, and this is my junior year in high school. My favorite subject is history. I am involved in a lot of programs and activities, one of the coolest ones being in Get REAL inC! I have been involved with Get REAL inC for a few years and love being able to serve girls of all different ages; I love having the chance to strive to be a role model for younger girls because I know there is a huge need for positive influence on kids of this generation. I love to sing, and I want to always use my talents for God’s glory. One day I want to be an evangleist and a bookwriter. I also have a huge passion for mission trips, and all other kinds of traveling. I love Jesus with all my heart and want to serve Him all of my days! Peace out!

Emma Deas

As “seen” on America’s Funniest Home Videos our Indy REAL Girl Co-Leader knows how to liven up any situation or news. 🙂  Emma is 14 years old and is finishing the 8th grade.  She has been homeschooled all her life.  Emma has been attending GetRealInC for two years. During this past year, Emma has helped her good friend, Courtney Grimes, lead the 5th– 8th grade GetReal inC group in Brownsburg, IN.  Emma enjoys doing arts and crafts, hanging out with her girlfriends, and jamming out to her favorite bands.

REAL Teen Speakers

Kristi McCowan

Hey there! My name is Kristi Ann, I’m 14 years young and loving my homeschooled life with my parents, brothers, sister, & puppies! I live in Indianapolis and have my entire life. Being homeschooled isn’t as laid-back as it seems. During the time I’m not working on school, I’m out babysitting, shopping, hanging with my REAL girls, going to concerts, and taking pictures! Photography is a strong passion of mine and takes up a lot of my time. But in the midst of it all, I’m still making time for Jesus. 😉 I have been a part of Get REAL inC since October of 2010. These girls and mentors have always been there for me and have helped me grow so much Spiritually. Get REAL inC means SO much to me and this year I have the honor of being able to speak at Get REAL inC’s first ever Lil’ Sis event! I’m so excited! I will be speaking on Colossians 3:12-14. It states:“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loves, clothe yourselves with Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, & patience.  Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a issue against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect humility.” I will be talking about how and why you should focus on wearing God’s attributes INSTEAD focusing on the latest styles and what to and what not to wear. Yes, the life of a young girl does focus on great fashion, OF COURSE! I will show them how to have style with their clothes AND their precious hearts. 🙂 So please join me on May 12th and have a REAL party with us! I can’t wait to see you there!

Loretta Wilhite

Hello! My name is Loretta, I’m going to be a senior in high school this next year, although I’m only 15. That’s why homeschooling is a plus for me! I’ve been homeschooled my whole life and I adore it. After graduating I plan to go to college for music theory and public speaking. I believe that God wants me to be a speaker at events sharing His love and what He has done in my life. I also believe that He has called me to be involved with music. I have a huge passion for it. I absolutely love to sing. I also play bass, piano, acoustic guitar and the ukulele. Music is a big thing in my life. Not to mention I work at a music venue that has concerts every weekend. Another big passion of mine is photography. God has blessed me with an eye for it. I love it.

I’ve been involved with Get Real inC since nearly the beginning. After I went to their first big event, “Get Real and B Smart,” I knew I had to become a leader and get deeply involved. Get Real inC is something that has always been there for me. I cannot express how much the people within it have changed my life, helped me with my walk with God and just showed me what REAL friendship is like. Speaking of which, I will be speaking at the PJ Party about REAL friendship.  It’s going to be super rad! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Olivia Dougherty

Hi!  My name is Olivia Dougherty.  I am twelve years old and a 6th grader at Brownsburg West.  I enjoy being with my friends, singing, hanging out with my family, and being with little kids.  I want to be a good example for kids younger than me, and to show them what being a light in the world means.  I also play violin at school, and have recently discovered that I like cheerleading.  I think that you can do anything if you set your mind to it and believe that you can do it.  I love Jesus, and I love Get REAL inC!  Katie and Get REAL inC have helped me so much to become the REAL girl that God wants me to be.

Denise Grimes

with a special segment for moms

Denise Grimes is the mother of two young ladies, Jadyn (10) and Courtney (13), who serve on the worship team as well as foster mom to two young boys (8 months and 2 years). In her spare time, Denise manages their family music ministry, “Higher Ground,” and travels with her family singing and sharing with families around the country. Their goal is to encourage families to put Christ first in their homes and in their lives. In addition to 4 music CDs and a children’s DVD series called “Our House,” Denise and her family have recently created a family devotional with an accompanying music CD to help families dig in to God’s Word together, which will be released sometime in the fall. Denise hopes to impart some encouraging words to moms based on the lessons she has learned so far in her parenting journey. Denise also serves as the Get REAL inC event worship leader.
